DESCRIPTION:The public is cordially invited to "Our State of Mind: A Seminar on Mental Health Today" on Thursday\, September 6\, 7-8:30 p.m. at Patrick Beaver Memorial Library Meeting Room\, for an evening of information and inspiration. A panel of those personally affected\, policy-makers\, and practitioners will be speaking about the state of mental health in our country\, specifically the Unifour region. Speakers include: **Mr. James Estes\, regional representative of Sen. Thom Tillis **Dr. Donna Fletcher of "A Caring Alternative" in Morganton **Mr. Randy Isenhower\, Catawba County Commissioners Chairman and Partners Behavioral Health board member **Ms. Edie Raether\, inspirational speaker and hypnotherapist (as featured on NBC\, CBS!) **Ms. Kathryn Grandgenett\, carer\, Partners respite recipient\, and Autistic Education Foundation board member (personal testimony\; featured on WHKY) Mr. Aaron Kohrs\, MA (event organizer and facilitator)\, a local educator and advocate\, will give a brief historical context of mental health evolution in America. There will be a question-and-answer segment to follow talks and refreshments provided by PDQ. The Women's Resource Center of Hickory will be present at the event with mental health resources.
