DESCRIPTION:Hickory Soup Kitchen would like to invite you to a celebrate the opening  of their NEW LOCATION at 110 2nd St Pl SE in Hickory with a ribbon cutting & open house. \n\n\n\n"The Hickory Soup Kitchen currently serves meals to an average of 235 people per day\, Monday through Friday. Our services also include groceries and a hygiene program which serves an additional 200 households each month.  With this larger space\, our capacity to store food and better serve our guests will greatly increase.  Many of our guests continue to struggle each day just to meet their basic needs\, but with your help\, we are able to bridge the gap during these tough times. Last year\, we served over 75\,000 plates of food to over 43\,000 guests\, and we expect that number to increase in 2017. When HSK provides food to our guests it enables them to use the money saved for other critical needs such as\, heat in the winter\, fuel for transportation to work\, and childcare." stated Austin Pearce\, Executive Director of the Hickory Soup Kitchen.\n\n\n\nChamber members and the public are invited to attend.   Representatives from the Chamber of Commerce and elected officials will be on hand to offer congratulatory remarks at the event.  \n\n\n\nPlease come out and see "what's cooking" at the new location of the Hickory Soup Kitchen!
