Abernethy Laurels hosts 12th Annual Cruise-In & Car Show

If you are a vintage car enthusiast, then you can't miss the 12th Annual Cruise-In at Abernethy Laurels on Friday, September 20. The Cruise-In will be open from 5pm to dusk and is free to the public. Abernethy Laurels is located on NC 16 S. Event signs will direct visitors to the location of the Cruise-In and Block Party. Along with the excitement of viewing the vintage cars, the event will feature a tractor display, live music, an ice cream vendor, and a cake walk. Visitors can also purchase BBQ that will be provided by Grace United Church of Christ in Newton. Proceeds from food sales will go to the United Church Homes and Service Foundation Campus Enrichment Fund which supports programs and special projects to enrich the lives of residents living at Abernethy Laurels. Residents and staff will be encouraged to vote on their favorite car. Two awards will be given- one for the residents' favorite car and one for the staff members' favorite car. There is no registration needed for car entries. Dash plaques will be given to the first 75 car entries that day.
