"Leadership is having a compelling vision, a comprehensive plan, relentless implementation, and talented people working together. People also want meaning. All of us want to know that we are doing great things, that we are touching a lot of people, and that what we are doing is something bigger than ourselves."
-Alan Mulally, former Chief Executive Officer of Ford Motor Company
Our signature event of the year! Please mark your calendar and register now for our Annual Shareholders & Investors Luncheon on February 15th, 2017 from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Hickory Metro Convention Center.
This year, we are pleased to welcome Clifton Lambreth as our featured speaker. Lambreth served as a key member of the "come-back squad", under the leadership of former CEO, Alan Mulally, at Ford Motor Company of America. The aggressive change strategies centered around people and processes which resulted in a compete turnaround for the corporate giant, taking the company from a loss of $12.7 billion dollars in 2006 to reporting profits exceeding $3 billion only three years later without accepting the government bail-out funds. Lambreth was a top executive for the company, serving in various capacities in sales and marketing for 26 years. Listen and learn as Lambreth shares how they did it, which he also details in his books, "Ford and the American Dream" and "The Return to Greatness."
Lambreth is a Thomasville, North Carolina native and a Western Carolina University graduate, where he received his undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Management and his Masters of Business Administration. His family now resides outside of Nashville, Tennessee.
In addition to Lambreth's dynamic remarks, we'll have the opportunity to recognize some noteworthy individuals including our retiring board members, our 2016 Ambassadors presented by Carolina West Wireless, 2016-2017 Leadership Catawba participants, and the recipient of our 2016-2017 Community Leadership Award, presented by Duke Energy. This is the highest award given by the Chamber in honor of a business or community leader who has gone above and beyond for community and economic development.
