Please note: Rated PG for content Based on the real life story of Joseph Merrick, who lived in the Victorian era and is known for the extreme deformity of his body. The play follows Dr. Frederick Treves as he cares for Merrick and questions the morality of European colonialism, the selflessness of charity, the relative importance of the spiritual vs. the physical, the rampant abuse of exploitation, and the merits of science vs. religion. Bradley Cooper recently starred in the Tony nominated revival on Broadway. The show will take place at the FPA Studio Theatre on the campus of Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute (on Highway 321, north of Hickory, Building B.) Performances will be Friday and Saturday, November 6,7, 13 & 14 at 8 PM, with Sunday matinees on November 8 & 15 at 3 PM.
