Ribbon Cutting - Ashure Ministry 6-26-2024
You are cordially invited to attend a ribbon cutting to celebrate the expansion of services and expansion of building for Ashure Ministry. The ribbon cutting celebration will take place on Wednesday, June 26th at 4:30 pm. Ashure Ministry is located at 245 East N Street in Newton.
Ashure Ministry, formerly Eastern Catawba Cooperative Christian Ministry (ECCCM), was formed in 1969 to help individuals and families facing a crisis situation. Ashure Ministry offers financial crisis assistance and clothing/household assistance to anyone living in Catawba County. In August 2023, all services offered by Ashure Ministry were expanded to cover anyone living in Catawba County. Through the expansion of services came a name change and an increased need for freezer and cooler storage space, both completed in 2024. Ashure Ministry provided 59,289 face-to-face service based interactions in 2023 helping 4,353 households with 9,957 individuals. The Charlie Bunn Food Pantry distributed 2.5 million pounds of food in 2023. This work could not be completed without the help of our volunteers. Volunteers are vital in helping the ministry serve all of Catawba County.
