Susan Van Fleet would like to invite you to attend the ribbon cutting of VanFleet Aviation on Thursday March 6, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Terminal Building of the Hickory, NC Airport 3101 9th Avenue Drive NW (just off highway 321).
Susan said she views her business, VanFleet Aviation, as a chance to pass “the gift of flight on to others.” Susan has been instructing since 1986, flew for the University of Georgia and instructed in King Air 200 for Flight Safety International in Atlanta before she started her own flight school in 2002. Susan moved her business to Hickory because of the local scenic beauty, the climate, the people, the very professional well planned and maintained airport and to live in the area where she has based her seaplane since October of 2008. Susan’s flight experience includes more than 7500 hours flying of which 4300 hours were instructing. Primary and instrument instruction are done in the Cessna 172s and seaplane instruction is done in her Cessna 172XP Amphibian Seaplane. She also offers scenic and photo flights over the local foothills, Grandfather Mountain and the Linville Gorge or where ever the passengers desire-“there are no yellow lines up there”. The photo/scenic flights are especially popular during the spring and fall seasons. Birthday parties and special occasion flights are enjoyable and fun at all times of the year. Susan has also added aerial burial or scattering of ashes to the flight school to fulfill requests from the public.
