Catawba County Historical Association hosts Gristmill 5K 11-5-16
The Grist Mill 5K at the Historic Murray's Mill is an off-road course utilized by local high school cross country teams for local meets. This course consists of mostly non-technical trails, with a few footbridges that cross the surrounding waterways and leads you by the placid pond as it slips over a mill dam, while the 28’ waterwheel of this National Register Historic Site makes its slow way round.
This event is being hosted by the Historical Association of Catawba County as a fundraiser to help with the upkeep and needed repairs of the gristmill and the site as a whole.
